A Lost Locomotive, Recreated
The Gowrie Locomotive Trust is rebuilding the 1908 North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway Single Fairlie Gowrie, preserving a unique and long-lost Hunslet locomotive for future generations. This ambitious new-build project is driven by public fundraising, donations, and the dedication of our members and supporters.

Work on this exciting Hunslet 0-6-4T new-build locomotive is now well underway and progressing at pace. A wide range of components, both large and small, have already been completed, including two new cylinders which are currently undergoing machining, reflecting the growing momentum of the project

Out and About with Gowrie
While our workshop is not open to the public, the Trust regularly attends railway events and exhibitions to raise funds and promote the Gowrie project. We bring along our 5-inch gauge working model of Gowrie, which is steamed at events and with model engineering societies, helping to showcase the design and generate interest in the full-size locomotive.
