The Hengist Locomotive Project hosted their annual open day on Saturday, April 13 2024, at CTL Seal LTD in Sheffield showing the two standard gauge new build projects: BR Standard Class 6 Clan Class No.72010 "Hengist" and LNER B17 Class No.61673 "Spirit of Sandringham".
The trust has attended previous open days with our fundraising stand but we thought it was time to show off our recent achievements and bought along the Carrier frames with the tanks, bunker and cab with the rear pony tuck.
The pictures below taken by Bob Ife, shows them being delivered to CLT Seal LTD the day before. Thank you to our good friends at DP Services Machine Removals Ltd their help
This is the first time the locomotive has been on public display and gained a lot of interest including journalist Tom Ingall who interviewed our chairman Alan Freebury for his YouTube Channel, the video of which is below.
